[00:00:00] is important for me to let them know that you can dream no matter how old you are, no matter how young or old you are. You can still dream like I think Morgan Freeman
[00:00:11] had his first big time movie at 54 Harris of 40 35 Vera Wang made her first dress at 40 Stanley at 39 made his first comic book. Welcome to the champion this podcast with Brianna South of Victoria Duke and Chelsea Poppins
[00:00:37] where we share the incredible stories of athletes and entertainers who are using their platforms to create positive change in the world and the communities they live in. We are stoked because today we have our good friend Charlie Kencino on board with us.
[00:00:51] Charlie just to hype him up a little bit, he's an MC and TV radio host from Mexico. He's worked with major brands and leagues like the NBA, the NFL, Formula One tennis, and he's built, been doing this for over 13 years. He's also a TEDx speaker, he's given over
[00:01:08] 300 conferences in eight countries. I don't even know how you have time for that or how that's possible. He's been a commercial voiceover for over 22 brands internationally and more importantly he really uses his platform for positive impact, namely sharing a message about motivation for change
[00:01:24] and social responsibility. Super excited to have you here Charlie. That's the best intro I've had in my entire life. I was hyped up, I was like oh my god this guy is good and I'm good not that good but yeah no this intro was just major. I'm really
[00:01:39] really happy to be with you Bri and Chelsea it's just awesome what you guys do. I love it I'm I'm happy to hear more about your story today and I'm really excited to dive in after
[00:01:48] researching you and learning all about you and Bri definitely took a deep dive into it. She's the best hype man you could ever have especially on these intro. Well he's easy to hype up so you know. Yeah whether resume like that it's easy.
[00:02:05] We try we we work but you guys are doing awesome I was really really hyped this is a great moment and I'm ready for the question so what are we going to talk about today?
[00:02:13] Yeah we wanted to kick it off just by getting a better understanding of your sport with your relationship with sport and how you found your love and passion for it. Oh yeah so I started up I've played probably every single sport I used to live in Cleveland
[00:02:29] when I was younger with my family and we got into sports because my older brother Tony Tony he's he's my best friend he's the best guy ever and he was always like team captain
[00:02:41] to this team captain to that he was in the boy scout he did everything and I was like I want to be like that guy I want to be like him so we had a really really really strong
[00:02:50] connection through sports because we were in baseball together we were in basketball together we weren't soccer together and when we came back from the States back to Mexico it was it was a
[00:03:00] lot of fun because we brought in that culture that the US has around sports that is sports it's big time sports is an important thing in your life and you have to do it besides everything you do
[00:03:12] so we came back in we started playing I played a little bit of soccer and that really good at it I'm a goalkeeper I am good with my hands but a friend of mine came and said dude you want to play basketball
[00:03:24] we can use oversized shorts and I was like oversized shorts let's go so let's go I started playing basketball like it eight back here in Mexico eight nine years old
[00:03:36] and I've never stopped that basketball has just grown into me and I love it it's part of what I did no lie about those oversized shorts I mean it adds about another especially back in the day
[00:03:48] adds about another five inches oh that love it shoot true and Charlie also is being humble but he also played on the Mexican national team which was pretty wild and I'm sure really cool experience as
[00:04:02] well I believe that out Charlie I know because at times I times I feel like when I keep on saying it I'm 33 now I was part of a national team when I was 16 and when I say now people expect me to play
[00:04:15] at that level so I go like I try to keep it out but yeah no I played college while I played for the national team I played for state teams it was it was a lot of growth and honestly I can't say
[00:04:28] it was thanks to what I do I feel like it's part of my personality and being like a team member I'm a really good teammate but my mom is the MVP because I don't know if you guys know
[00:04:39] but here in Mexico City Mexico City traffic is crazy so every day we had to go when I was going to train for the national team um she we made an hour and a half drive to get to the gym where
[00:04:53] we played every single day in my mom was there my mom took me there just got her job my mom works at nine to five like she does but she told me over waited then took me back we had lunch on
[00:05:03] the car not she was she was the MVP so honestly yeah whatever I did on court just it's just race by her legendary moves yes shout out to mom I know my dad did the same thing hour and a half traffic
[00:05:17] like two three times a week to go to practices in the inland empire in Southern California and then come back the parents really hold it down you city people i'm an Iowa so we didn't have that kind
[00:05:28] of traffic but we still drove an hour and a half to get to practice but just much to the next city the next place with humans yeah exactly so good well Charlie I want to pivot a little bit in
[00:05:43] talk about how you found your love and passion for sports media you mentioned to me a little bit in our one-on-one conversation about how you used to bring kind of a camera with you to your games
[00:05:55] when you were like 16-17 but talk to us a little bit about that and yeah what made you fall in love with that space so it was funny because my dad gave me a camera before we went to this first
[00:06:09] international competition and he told me like record everything you do every single thing and I want to see what you do so I started recording in two weeks I edited and created 17 videos
[00:06:21] 17 videos which I brought back and I showed my dad and I was like this is what happened this is the morning training session this was the option you know this was the first game blah blah so 17 videos
[00:06:31] and I was hyped it was it was a really really nice moment just to have this camera just share around what we were doing and I thought to myself if i can create content i can create sports
[00:06:43] content and be the person behind the camera and be the person at times in front of the camera so I thought i was going to get into communication side study that in college which i didn't
[00:06:53] I studied industrial engineering because my dad said like you're crazy you're really good at engineer like engineering math chemistry physics whatever but i never stopped loving that side of it so I started hosting every single college event when I was in college I started in radio at the
[00:07:10] local radio station and it just started growing and growing from since I was like 18 years old to now what in video editing look like back then compared to now so bad still bad once I see my
[00:07:24] videos I go like oh my god what were you doing why were you talking like that why are you dressed like that so yeah i'm not gonna share those videos but i could probably share one photo
[00:07:33] and see if everybody agrees with me that i was not into fashion back then was this back in the day where my or Facebook people would just post some also whatever whatever type of music videos
[00:07:44] or whatever they're they'd post in the thoughts and everything on Facebook this is that era yeah it was like when people thought it was like a diary where it was just for yourself but no
[00:07:55] millions of people could see it and millions of people could laugh it would so i'm not there right you step as I think we got five Charlie's five shows that was my main
[00:08:04] one of the only we're gonna link Charlie's face to the show knows yeah and then everybody will be no way that I did whatever the intro item about no way you did that no way that's amazing
[00:08:18] well it's interesting because Charlie you now as we mentioned in the intro you've worked with the MBA and I fell formula one the Oscars you were just there last week or sorry last month
[00:08:29] rather um when did you actually secure that role with the MBA and kind of make that jump into the more foremost board media sector oh that's really good so it actually started off with a really close
[00:08:42] friend in an event in college eelianic human is she was she's still an amazing host she hosts stuff for anti AA and BA all around and she's been like an angel in my journey through
[00:08:54] and seeing and hosting because we were hosting an event I was 19 years old and I told her I love sports I want to host something around sports I want to do something I see that you do this
[00:09:05] and she was like I got you and immediately like a week after that she introduced me to Adrian Allerace who is one of my best friends all the time um Adrian used to work
[00:09:16] a BB ops here in Mexico for an MBA and now he's in Europe and we just clicked immediately and I was like Adrian whatever you need me to do I'll do it whatever you need for basketball we'll get
[00:09:27] it done so I started hosting a couple clinics starting hosting some camps are working on the BB off side and yeah so my life just turned into this MBA wildcard where whatever they need me to
[00:09:41] do I'm down for it so if it's content if it's camps if it's hosting um and I just love it because you get to meet so much and so many incredible people from around the world that love the sport that you love
[00:09:55] so yeah it's it's been a while journey with MBA as well hmm you just talk about camps uh your role has also been involved in the MBA Academy of Mexico as well as working with
[00:10:06] basketball without borders talk to us about the impact you're seeing with the MBA academy driving that change across Mexico oh yeah and it's not only across Mexico it's like around the world
[00:10:18] the MBA Academy for me is is home is what I when I was younger I dreamt of having and I'm really honored to be a part of it because the yeah Academy has helped out so many kids from all around
[00:10:31] the world you have academies literally Mexico Senegal Australia from everywhere and you get players internationally coming in that probably never knew they had a shot at making it to the MBA so I always
[00:10:44] joke about how when I was younger playing MBA 2K or MBA life the story never really related to what I was living because it was like oh yeah this kid that hopped into college and went over to play in the
[00:10:56] MBA so it's like here in Mexico you never dream about normally going to college and then go into the MBA and there's been a lot of Mexican players now getting spots and NCAA finding their way
[00:11:08] their journey but the NBA Academy has been one of those spots that really helps you dream that you can achieve whatever you want to so it's it's been incredible I've I've taken every single
[00:11:20] roll I started off Adrian called me and said like dude so the commissioner just said we're going to have an Academy here in Mexico you want to go I was like let's go I'm your guy I started to and
[00:11:30] like even the legal side just to help kids travel wherever they were coming from and I moved into like teaching I helped out with some math classes whatever the guys needed some English tutoring
[00:11:41] then hopped over to content and now I'm just trying to help them share their story through content super powerful it's so it's so cool I love what you shared because I think there's so much
[00:11:54] power in building pathways for kids to participate in sport and that couple with seeing role models you know and now we're seeing incredible talent come out of Mexico and being able to not only see
[00:12:07] those role models that are playing in the MBA the WMBA but then also now having an opportunity to you yourself you know go and participate in a camp in a clinic and that MBA's done an incredible
[00:12:17] job of building that infrastructure across the globe shout out to Neil Meyer head of basketball operations global at the MBA who's put it in the good work but yeah love love what you shared
[00:12:30] and there's a lot of people that have just adding to that part that a lot of people have really shared that dream there's a lot of people really invested in helping these kids get those opportunities
[00:12:40] so you hear players right now like Benedict Math or in Dyson Daniels players that came through the MBA county program and now are impacting the league but also players and the WMBA side
[00:12:52] so like the women's program has grown so much and done so much like I think coming back out of also number three pick from the draft a WMBA draft this year a Lead where it's they were all
[00:13:03] part of some program or some camp or the in the academy which is beautiful because you see that it's not really just for guys not really just for girls it's for everybody and it's not only
[00:13:13] for people that live in certain countries it's for every single country around the world and that is a powerful story and you'll get to and hear more about each and every player that's come through
[00:13:23] the program. Does it kind of feel like a full circle moment for you going up in Mexico living this type of life and then being able to give back now in those academies in other ways
[00:13:37] I mean you you get back in multiple different ways but this is just one one way that you do that yeah definitely for for a younger Charlie I know you'd be proud of me because he was always looking
[00:13:49] for for other opportunities and more stuff and more and continue to keep on dreaming so it's like a promise from you to him just saying do we got these guys we got them and whatever they need we're
[00:13:59] up for it and I had a really really special moment there was this player from Canada that came into the NBA County Land America his name is Oliver Maxine's prosper awesome dude you got
[00:14:11] drafted by the mnavs and we had an opening night game between the spurs and the mnavs and the spurs invited me to host because a Victor Wimbellama was there and I can host in English management
[00:14:25] French right and once I see the roster I see all max and on the court and I was like it's awesome to see this guy and share this moment with him it's opening night and the amazing moment
[00:14:37] and just to see him he's one of the smartest dudes I've ever seen in my life he's so talented on court off the court he's an amazing teammate he's an amazing family member like his soul family is
[00:14:47] amazing and once I saw him there I was like dude I honestly did nothing to help you get here but I'm so proud to see what you've done and how you've made it to the lead now
[00:14:58] hmm I love that was there ever is it I mean is this was there ever like an aha moment you're like wow I'm I'm really doing this or was this it they have the full circle moment or was there another
[00:15:09] time I think that might be it like with the NBA County that but might be the moment but also like when you have conversations with some of these players like Benedict Mathrain um he came back
[00:15:22] to to the academy just to share his his advice to younger generations and once he came up I was like this guy knows so many people right now that he probably forgot about me like why would you know
[00:15:34] who I am he just came up and said like what's up Charlie you good man I was like oh my god this this is this is amazing because you see that they're here at the program four or five years
[00:15:45] you you help out in some way there's there's so many people that really invested in their data stuff for me it's more on the content side so it's like whatever highlights you
[00:15:54] you guys want to do whatever graphics you guys want to do but once you see how they come back and they appreciate every single detail like the smallest things for my side to the bigger things like
[00:16:05] muddy fed or Walter that help them out with uh studies and connecting to on-court off-court you see that they remember everything in the they appreciate everything so yeah it's it's just perfect
[00:16:18] that's so cool I actually have a question related to kind of the content in the storytelling piece I'm here incredibly good at helping people to share their stories and and really share that love and
[00:16:29] light through your platform talk to us a little bit about like what is your mindset going into those conversations with some of these players and some of those interviews how are you able to
[00:16:39] make them feel comfortable and help them share that story in an authentic way so I think and I that's probably for every single interview that I do both first sports and off-sports is you need
[00:16:52] to have the other person relate to what you're saying because normally like whenever you interview a specific person and you just ask them generic questions they know you didn't study them they know
[00:17:04] you don't really know them but if you open up and you show a little bit of what's in your heart so they can relate to you that they connect immediately immediately so I have this thing I love to draw
[00:17:17] and whenever I get to host an interview big time stars wherever around the world I draw them in small papers that I have and and I have it like I have a paper right here oh this show
[00:17:30] you guys so it's a different kind of drawing but I try and I show it to them and without even saying like hey I drew the first thing they do is they see it in the start smiling they go like is that
[00:17:47] me is that probably so it's I mean how bad is drawing is it a good drawing? I think it is a really good I think I'm better at drawing than a lot of stuff I do I'll try to draw you guys as well and I'll
[00:18:02] do something cool for you but yeah so it's a way they can relate to what I do and you can connect yeah I had to ask because you said that they react is is that me?
[00:18:16] it's probably the distance because they're like probably like six feet no you're good but yeah now I like to draw so it's it's a way they connect and when you bring in a joke when
[00:18:27] you bring in a personal experience everything changes once you relate from your heart to their heart it's good so you actually speaking of some big time people you've interviewed I think it was last month or the month before you were at the Oscars you were reporting live
[00:18:43] from the Oscars what was that experience like tell us and also like how did you get into space because that's obviously a little bit different than sports but a lot of crossover as well
[00:18:54] oh yeah so the Oscars was an experience for me it's it's been a lifelong dream I've always wanted to be in something related with movies when I was younger with a camera that I told you about
[00:19:06] I wanted to be a movie director I wanted to write movies and direct them never really got into that not not yet probably not soon but it might still be a goal yes it might come in my
[00:19:20] but the Oscars was like the big time moment that I wanted to live and thanks to Singapore's one of the major brands in cinema around the world they helped me get there and just
[00:19:33] share my experience from there so it was amazing amazing it for me I want to keep on doing more on the movie side and it all started when I was in the radio station for my college
[00:19:45] I got a call from a guy saying hey you want to be of a part of a bigger program that's called XIFAMI which is huge year in Mexico and I was like yeah let's go so we started with this
[00:19:56] morning show from 6 to 10 a.m. every single day and then connected to TV and then connected to like traditional media and that opened up a different world for me once this scene
[00:20:10] police started seeing what I did hosting events and a lot of friends in the same area they said like let's bring them in so the first thing I did with them was space jam because it actually
[00:20:19] mixed both of my worlds basketball and and traditional media and digital media so space jam two was my first opportunity with them and we have in stop-since that's awesome I saw that one or I saw
[00:20:32] one of those on YouTube a little to conversation between you guys about space jam but also you had the chance to interview a couple of actors on the chosen I thought that was really cool and you
[00:20:42] are a man of faith I looked you up we talked about this but tell us a little bit about how faith has played a role in this journey I would just love to hear on a personal level of what
[00:20:54] maybe there is some trying times where that you really had to dig deep and work in that relationship but maybe just tell us a little bit about that. Yeah so faith is a game changer for me
[00:21:07] game changer entirely faith came into my life once I met my wife Sophie I was always a believer you know in my house well my parents house I was the only one that really went to church
[00:21:21] nobody else really went I would buy myself but once I met Sophie she was really into this spiritual side and it was amazing because I felt a different connection with God in what I do
[00:21:34] and the way that I connected with God because I started already in radio TV way before with Sophie but before I was with her and suddenly I felt this different connection and I was like
[00:21:46] am I doing what God put me in the spot to do am I being the person that he wants me to be and I was like he loves me unconditionally but I need to do better I need to speak more of him
[00:22:01] I need to share more of him in whatever I do so if it's on the court just play like he would like me to play if it's me giving a speech me sharing conference a moment whatever it is
[00:22:16] it's really for him and that has helped me out in different ways the first one is my problems are so much smaller once I put my problems in his hands he is huge he is so so big he sees our problems
[00:22:31] as nothing he can just make him go away and that has really helped me out and also given that Chelsea you spoke about the series the chosen I connect with the message that Peter or Simon
[00:22:44] what I don't know what part you are right now but how he sees his position in role with God where even though there's bad moments in my life even though there's good moments this is all for
[00:22:56] him and he knows what's good and he knows how to really guide me through this process so we've had really really tough moments and immediately you get angry and once I set this
[00:23:09] anger in his hands it's like it's all clean it's good it's it's in his hands and on the gut sides that's the first thing I do always turn to him and say this is for you I hope whatever I'm doing
[00:23:21] is building a stairway to having the delivery or just growing in what you want me to do here that's great has there ever been a time where you've questioned where it's been a trying time
[00:23:33] a waiting period where you've really questioned throughout your on and what you're doing in the path that you has for you every single day every single day it's what I try to do a lot of stuff
[00:23:46] in my life and try to impact in different areas and I'm exhausted almost every day and I have a one year old one and a half year old his name is Sebastian he's the most awesome dude ever
[00:24:00] but he's he's amazing and something that I see is that I'm exhausted and I turned to God and say do you still want me to do this I mean you can say no and I remember I was like do you still want
[00:24:13] me to host do you want me to take like a nine to five do you just want me to stay on a regular more stable job in two hours later I got a call from my friends at this person they said
[00:24:25] we're coming to Monterey we want to do something with you and I was like oh my god you do actually speak to me directly so yeah it's it's it's it's hard when you want to follow your dreams when
[00:24:37] you want to follow what you do but your heart is passionate about it's really hard but he speaks to he guides you and he knows how to talk to you whether it's through a song whether it's through a movie
[00:24:50] whether it's through finding amazing people like both of you it's it's it's a way that God talks us and relates us and shows us that he's here with us and that he's he's ready for us so good
[00:25:01] so good and I think there's something beautiful there's so much it's beautiful about your story but really hearing your heart interesting in God and knowing that even sometimes in those
[00:25:10] on no moments like he's got your back and he has a planet of purpose for your life and it does sound like you really are leading into that purpose through the work that you're doing and using that
[00:25:21] platform again to share this message of hope and love yeah really love that and it's actually interesting because what you just shared also plays into a lot of the impact work that you're doing externally in particular you've really championed this message of motivation for change in social
[00:25:39] responsibility you've given TED talks on the subject and it's really about helping individuals chase those dreams so talk to us more about this message why it's important to you
[00:25:49] and and some of the impact you're seeing a drive for me it's it's so important that we open up our eyes because there's a lot of successful people around the world that don't really open their eyes
[00:26:00] to the opportunity to stretch their hand and just help out a little bit somebody that needs it so for me it's it's always been about opening my eyes seeing oh I can do a little bit extra
[00:26:11] I fight do this little extra for somebody else that person might be able to help out and give something extra right so it's during my conferences my TED talks as I've shared as well
[00:26:25] it's it's a way for me to connect with other people and brands because a major thing for me is to connect brands with volunteering with social commitment to bring them into this new idea that
[00:26:36] we can all help out and it doesn't have to be about money it could be about your time it could about about your love it's it's crazy how that helps you also connect on the professional end
[00:26:47] I had this this we this is a friend that works in a major brand a tech brand that I I work with and she recently had this issue this she was in the hospital and I was like let me let me just pray for you
[00:27:01] I'll be here I'll be praying for you if there's anything I can do I could share you I could send you like an Uber eats if you want some type of food or whatever and she was like yeah I appreciate that
[00:27:11] and it was crazy because a month later she hired me for like four or five different events and I was like oh I appreciate it thank thank you very much and she's like no thank you thank you for praying for me
[00:27:23] and I was like oh my god it's crazy so once you share that type of example that you going an extra mile will help other people go 20 extra miles for what you do or for community service or
[00:27:37] for just causes around the world that's that's that's what I try to do I try to help out so they help out other people and and at times honestly they they end up helping me even more than what I
[00:27:48] helped that right that's amazing that I mean the power of prayer and power of going out of your way it is the little things that change hearts and make the impact but I love I mean I love that sorry
[00:28:02] do you have any other stories that kind of play into the impact that you're having with whether that be through the TED talks and the lives you change or anybody that's reached out to you about
[00:28:11] your your speaking events and how I touch their hearts so in different conferences in different moments I try to share with a lot of kids that are making their college decision of what they want to
[00:28:23] study where they want to go because it's important for me to let them know that you can dream no matter how old you are no matter how young or old you are you can still dream like I think Morgan Freeman
[00:28:37] had his first big time movie at 54 Harris of 40 35 Vera Wang made her first dress at 40 Stanley at 39 made his first comic book so it doesn't really matter what age you you are in or
[00:28:53] what era of your life you're in you're always available to dream and something really nice is whenever I connect with a younger generation and share my process and my ways of doing stuff I love it
[00:29:07] when guys or girls just reach out and say I love what you're doing I want to do what you do and just all right you want to you want to try out hosting you want to try out radio
[00:29:17] I'll bring you into the next stage whatever I'm doing my stages your stage let's connect let's try it out and it's really really nice there's this awesome guy and cancun as name is
[00:29:29] Chadley as well but he's in wheelchair and always has been he has both like a physical like something happened when he was younger and he said that he wanted to give a conference for
[00:29:42] thousands of people and I told him well I have a conference for thousands of people coming up soon and you want to share the stage all I have like an hour and a half I told him you can go 45
[00:29:53] minutes I can go 45 minutes and let's just let's just do it so it's a sharing the stage opportunities that that God gives you and the privileges that you have to those that don't
[00:30:05] do not have the privilege and want to share that same dream with you. So good so so powerful I love that making space for others and having that hard of generosity to allow others to shine alongside
[00:30:18] you know that great work that you're doing it's that's big it's awesome. I wanted to just kind of take a step back and take us a little bit more high level so kind of being in this space working
[00:30:30] with athletes entertainers you know being yourself immediate personality what role do you think that these different individuals play in terms of their role as society and their responsibility to kind of make that world a better place. That is a good good question I feel like there's so many
[00:30:49] people that people that gather communities around them that support what they do being sports athletes being entertainment superstars or whatever I feel they have a responsibility a responsibility to understand first that it's because of that community that they are
[00:31:06] superstars without them they wouldn't be there and the second part is that you have to give back because they they are people of influence now and that influence can change drastically what
[00:31:20] every single person sees in their social media sees in movies sees on the court sees us of court. So it's it's a huge responsibility they have they share so much I was just seeing a couple of
[00:31:34] interviews right now that Caitlyn Clark was doing given now that she's in Indiana fever it's so important and she does it's so so well that she knows that it's not only her it's a it's a
[00:31:47] team thing she shares it it's it's baked on so I love when you see people of influence sharing a positive impact in those that are watching even the smallest details yeah I really love seeing
[00:32:00] the women's basketball like phase of everything right now because back in my day we really didn't know there was there are small ways of giving back but there wasn't as much opportunity or
[00:32:12] there wasn't as much as many resources to do so so like even Audie Crooks that I always state it's really cool to see that they're like all these agents who are trying to set her up for
[00:32:22] success and help her build her brand and her causes and the things she cares about in order to use her platform to give back but it's such a really special place that I wish we had back in the
[00:32:31] day but just to see how it's developed is really cool and how it will I mean continue to develop especially in the Kate and Clark era of things it's really cool to see I think that's
[00:32:43] something huge right now right yeah I was gonna say too I think we're we've we've seen it historically athletes like Jesse Owens Jackie Robinson my am my am more kind of leveraging their platform
[00:32:56] to bring about positive social change and yeah but we're just seeing more and more of that I think as as a society as Gen Zers and millennials are really kind of pushing for I mean all of us
[00:33:09] rise on like boomers also are going out they're doing incredible things but yeah you're just seeing this wave of kind of society being like okay now we're ready to kind of step up and make the
[00:33:21] what better place and that's a great view that people have now like people are watching out for other details that we didn't look into before like gender equality like having different opportunities different setting the stage for different opportunities and also the mental side of it like
[00:33:39] looking out for your mental well being looking out for your body but taking care of your mind as well taking care of your faith if that's what you do that's also that's all a so thing now and it's
[00:33:49] great to see athletes and super stars just talking about it I remember I saw a Chris Spratt speech when he was given an award and he was just like relating what he does in his everyday life
[00:34:03] to share his vulnerable and open heart to the people and you love to see that yeah I'm missing the best. And speaking of people using their platform let's talk a little bit more about you and maybe
[00:34:16] you can give us some tea on any exciting projects that you're currently a part of or anything that we can be on the lookout for in the future I would love to hear any any inside knowledge.
[00:34:28] All right so for me coming coming up next I really really really want to hop into women's sports I've always tried to be a part of camps but now that the focus is in what women are doing in sports
[00:34:42] I want to turn whatever efforts I can make or whatever energy I can bring to these events focused on what women really need to have that huge exposure and just help out I mean they can
[00:34:55] do without me obviously because what I do is more on the entertainment side but at times I feel like I can I can bring in something a little bit different and just a little bit helped out in what I can
[00:35:05] do so yeah I really want to turn into that and also a huge project hopefully closing up in a couple of weeks is dubbing into movies being keeping a voice over for different characters big time characters in movies so yeah I think that's the next big steps race.
[00:35:24] So that's exciting. Does it work like a in France with your like the dub for a celebrity your kind of that celebrity stub for the duration of all your films is a different than in Spanish yeah
[00:35:39] it's the exact same thing so here in Mexico there's this guy that always does the bullsmith voices or Ryan Reynolds has his own guy here so we're into that I can't really give any
[00:35:50] a lot of details because it's still the work but yeah no but I know it's going to be something huge I know it's going to be really really nice in as we said it's it's all up to him let's go
[00:36:03] that's big so before we jump into the lightning round we have one more question which we've been asking all of our guests but what advice do you have for our listeners regarding achieving
[00:36:15] their full potential and using their gifts and their own talents to make them all the better place. Okay so I would normally probably say something different but I'm going to start off with this one
[00:36:27] is to hear here we need to open up our ears because now that we have our phones and we can connect every single moment it's like oh I have to say this I need to share this with these guys and
[00:36:40] at times we just have to shut up and listen at times we don't have to say anything and just listen I honestly recommend that whoever's listening just listen to Chelsea listens to Bree they have amazing stories that they don't share when when they because they are interviewing everybody
[00:36:58] on the podcast but they have stories they have to something to share with you so open up your ears and just listen there's there's something about that story that might connect to you
[00:37:07] and that happens with your mom that happens with your dad they all have stories and it times we're like angry with someone or it times we just want to give up and you just have to open
[00:37:18] up your ears and then after that you have to act because 90% of the time our ideas just stay in our brain and never become actions so we have to take action into it we have to take the first step
[00:37:30] if you want to just talk to your crush right now because you've never spoken to her texture right now be like are you ready we're going to go to the movies I heard this guy is
[00:37:39] going to be dubbing a movie we'll go see his movie so yeah you have to act now yeah have to act now open up your ears open up your heart and just take you to the first movement first actions
[00:37:51] yeah take the leap let's go when I word I love it thanks for the thanks for your kind words as well super sweet yeah all right so we're at our lightning round bbbbb replace with music there but so these are lightning round they're quick questions 30 seconds
[00:38:10] our first question is what is your favorite event you've had the chance to cover oh it's definitely going to be I think it's going to be opening night with the spurs it was so much fun so much fun yes
[00:38:24] good answer okay most interesting interview you've conducted oh my god i'm going to say even though there was one that travel just to learn it but i'm going to say another one Colonel Chris Hatfield he's an astronaut but he's been three time commander of the international
[00:38:42] space station we only had I think like 18 minutes with him we ended up doing 32 minutes so it was the best interview I've had in my entire life because I wanted to be an astronaut when I was younger that's it
[00:38:53] oh that's so cool I love that you also we also have some like Michael B. Jordan interviews in there too so yeah we'll bring back to you more about those yeah yeah all right what is the most
[00:39:05] embarrassing on air moments and don't hold back oh my god okay so we were at this tech event I'm not gonna say which one but i was interviewing a guy that's farted mid conversation
[00:39:22] so I had my mic and I was like so just trying to keep a straight face we were talking about officers and wifi six at that time and it was like oh my god so how do I continue with this
[00:39:34] and yeah no it was it was it was really really bad I hope I have a clip so I can share with you I need more information was it was it was it was it vocal the could you hear it or was it just
[00:39:43] something felt so we were so close I could hear it in the interview you can't hear it but I heard it and then you smell it and it was like oh my god what's going on this guy definitely ate
[00:39:55] something wrong so yeah yep it was my face just immediately turned red and I was trying not to laugh so I was like so yeah it was yeah it was that's great that's hilarious all right next question
[00:40:09] which sorry but I took your question oh my god was your country has the best sports fans oh you know it has to be Mexico Mexico is passionate we do make them in no old team oh yeah of course
[00:40:22] but Mexico as a crazy but I also want to say out of can dina out of can dina is I remember we went there for an event and we were playing in the home crowd what's so intense like they they
[00:40:37] hated us they literally hated us and they were like yeah they said a lot of things about my mom that I can't say right now if I yeah they they were wild they they're passionate so Mexico
[00:40:47] in that continuum that's the home crowd you want to have me that's great okay noted well Charlie this has been an absolute pleasure it's been so fun getting to connect with you and just hear your
